1850s Hand Colored Stone Lithographs of Birds of the West Black Turnstone
This Black Turnstone is a shore bird from the sandpiper family that was observed during the California expedition and survey in 1853. On the top margin this print says "U. S. P. R. R. Exp. & Surveys --- California" and "Birds - -- Plate VII." Below is the lithograph as it will come to you in a Dove White mat and in a protective clear plastic sleeve.
