William Howard Taft Political Ribbon Badge

This is a beautiful political event ribbon badge for William Howard Taft running for President of the United States in either 1908 or 1912 as the Republican candidate.  He won in 1908 but when Theodore Roosevelt split the Republican vote by running as a Progressive in 1912 it resulted in the election of Woodrow Wilson as President.  Taft later got the job he wanted when he was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Warren G. Harding in 1921.
